Case Studies #2 :
Name
: MPLS Rollout of 12 Countries in the Intrum Justitia Group (IJ).
Delivery: On Target – within budget.
Vendor: BT Ignite (now BT)
Objective: Cutover all Frame Relay (FR) circuits from legal LAN core to new MPLS core Description: Facilitate FR cutover and intermediate Frame to MPLS ports for phase 1 of cutover – phase 2 all circuits cutover onto native MPLS core.
QoS/VPN routing shaped data traffic provision to optimise performance to the many IJ regions. In addition specialised services such as a CISCO VOIP Call Manager and Voice Logic solution and service deployment connecting offices in Italy and Switzerland. Twelve countries in the group were connected over the MPLS VPN core and the other ten countries were connected via IPSec VPN tunnels which naturally extended the wide area network over the internet.
Result: Smooth cutover in all instances with no downtime for the enterprise regions.

Name: Systems and Infrastructure Integration after a major acquisition.
Context Overview : Intrum Justitia acquired the Receivables Management Arm of Dun & Bradstreet in 2001 – a structured integration plan allowing for offices in 6 countries to a This plan included – office build, WAN integration, system integration, network security, VOIP delivery, call centre design & relocation : High level brief required absolutely minimum down time, included Due Diligence negotiation, GAP analysis between respective systems and platforms, Technical Team integration plans and execution, Multiple New Site build and transition & bring-up and handover thereof.
Delivery: Ensure that all staff have the infrastructural, desktop applications, backend server tools and databases to conduct their business as part of new business product lines subsumed into Intrum Justitia from Dun & Bradstreet Receivables Management arm.
Objective: Oversee Plan the integration of systems and offices in order to support ongoing business operations in all merging offices in 10 countries in Europe.
Enforce security policies and align systems such that the D & B acquired staff and equipment complied to the IJ Group standards, policies and operating procedures.
Result: Good integration results were achieved allowing business profits to follow projected estimates prior to an Initial Public share Offering (IPO) floatation.
